Rosie’s Amazing Writing!

Rosie has been working very hard at home and has written (with help from her mummy!) an amazing story all about children who enter the TV and end up on The Great British Bake Off and Bo Peep who comes to life!

Rosie told the story to her mummy who kindly wrote it down word for word.  Rosie then illustrated the story with pictures of secret doors and delicious cakes.

The paper was beautifully placed inside a pink, glittery card cover and tied off with string.

Mrs Toms enjoyed reading it to the children and Rosie was very excited too!

THEN…. Rosie’s mummy sent Mrs Toms a photograph of even MORE work that Rosie has been doing.  Take a look at the picture below!

Well done Rosie!

If you have any great stories to tell, ask your parents and carers to help you write them down and send them in.  We love to read them!

Parent Share on 2Simple Evidence Me

Don’t forget to download the 2Simple Evidence Me app and log in with your credentials! If you have any difficulty logging in, please contact Mrs Sale.

Once you’re up and running with the app, simply snap a photo or video of any incredible learning that has happened at home and write a little note to say what happened.

For example:

“Jessie counted the stairs from 1-12 as she walked up them”.

“Daisy learned how to put her coat on by herself and fastened the buttons”.

“Harry wrote ‘dad’ by himself using his sounds”

Evidence comes from everywhere in the early years!

If we share something with you, please write a parent note to say how pleased/impressed you are with your child!

Many thanks

Mrs Toms

Festivals and Fireworks!

Hi all,

We kick-started our first day back at school by learning all about Diwali!

We read ‘Dipal’s Diwali’ and discovered how much preparation some families make for Diwali, including cleaning the house, giving away unwanted toys and going shopping for supplies.

We looked at some beautiful clothes from India and even got to try some of them on! We watched some traditional Indian dances and tried to recreate some of the movements.  The children bravely stood on the stage in the garden and twirled and stomped to the beat in their sparkly and special clothes.  The speaker was on in the garden and we hope everyone heard our happy voices as we laughed and giggled while dancing.

We then found out more about beautiful Rangoli patterns and how the temples are decorated with pretty, bright colours.  The children then drew their own rangoli patterns onto the garden floor with colourful chalks.  Lots of children really took their time to create their patterns.  One child worked especially hard to draw an intricate rangoli pattern on the interactive whiteboard screen using the electronic pen.

Later this week, we will be making coconut burfi sweets and decorating our hands with henna.  If you have not spoken to a member of staff to grant or deny permission for your child to have mehndi patterns on their hands, please do so before Wednesday.  We will also be making clay diva lamps and finding out more about the story of Rama and Sita (one of Mrs Toms’ favourite stories ever!).

Keep up the good work wonderful Receptions!

Video- Autumn 1

This video was shown to the parents of our prospective new joiners for September 2020.  We emphasised the fact that this video was taken just 10 days into our new school year and how it demonstrated how well your children have settled and taken to life in Reception.  It made lots of parents smile and see how wonderful our school is.  We hope you enjoy it too!

Our First Half Term!

What an amazing half term it has been!  The children have settled in really well and we are very proud of their attitudes to learning and progress they have already made.

Here are some photos to show you what we have been doing!
