The Naughty Bus

Year 1 have been reading a new book ‘The Naughty Bus’. The bus from the story has come to visit our school and we have been having lot’s of fun with him. This week the naughty bus has been getting up to all sorts of mischief around the school including zooming down the banisters and stealing children’s lunches! We are now trying to teach him about the golden rules. Our lovely year 1 children are being great role models in showing him how to do this.

Jungle Penny

On Wednesday 6th June, Reception, Year One and Year Two had a visit from Jungle Penny. We learnt all about the different animals you might see in the jungle and know lots of new facts. We had great fun monkeying around and stealing banana pies too!

Number fun

This week, the whole school has been on the look out for big red numbers! The numbers are hidden and the children are on a mission to find them and return them to Miss Brown, along with a fact of their choice about that number. The children have enjoyed searching throughout the school and showing off their number skills!

A special visitor in Year 1

As part of a treat for Children in Need, Year 1 had a very special visitor on Friday. Miss Morris’ dog Bella came to school and spent some time in Year 1. The children took it in turns to throw the ball for Bella who was very happy to bring it straight back for the next child. Everyone who wanted to, got to stroke Bella too.

We are not sure who enjoyed it more, Bella or the children.

Policing Reception!

In Reception we have been looking at people who help us. We have become Police detectives, using our police station role play area to find out who pushed Humpty Dumpty off the wall and who stole the chocolate cake! The children have had a wonderful time being the Police or a baddy.

Making vegetable patches

Reception children have been learning about Vegetables and have planted some of their own in the reception garden.
We made our own vegetable patches using collage materials.
If you would like to bring in some vegetables or fruit to add to our resources it would be gratefully received.

A special song to celebrate our ‘GOOD’ news

On Friday we held a surprise assembly for Miss Morris to celebrate that OFSTED have graded our school as GOOD.

Each class or year group made a short video which was shown during the special assembly. These videos have been posted on the individual year group blogs for the whole school community to enjoy.
