During our RE lessons, we have been learning about different people who influence us. We have looked at Christianity and today we looked at the people who influence us in school. Here are some of the clips where the children said thank you to these special people who have influenced them and have made them the people they are today! Enjoy!

Year 1 have received so many lovely pieces of homework! We just wanted to say a big thank you to the children and the adults who have spent so much time and effort on them! They are truly amazing and deserved to be showed off. Please keep them coming we are loving their little garden projects! These are just a few of them:
It’s poetry week in year 1 and to start us off the children have been reciting poems about mini beasts! They even used actions to go with their poems and focused on expression whilst reading them out loud! We can’t wait to read your mini beast poems year 1! 
it was a lovely day to go outside, look at leaves and flowers and draw them.
We had some great masterpieces!
Year 1 went out investigating different trees and flowers and were able to to name and classify some that we had in our very own playground! Looking at the leaves on the trees they were able to identify which tree it was from and tick it off from their identification sheet.
We have been super excited about the chicks coming to Elm Park Primary school! We have been watching super carefully and have been learning about the hen life cycle. Year 1 have been watching the chicks hatch out the eggs and seeing them grow. 
Year 1 have been busy looking at different animals and the patterns they have on their skin. We then created animal skins with paint!
We have been looking at 2D and 3D shapes! We have been learning their names and we went on a hunt around the school to find different 3D shapes! We found lots and lots! 
To end our topic of ‘Dragons’ Year 1 were busy making eggs all made out of clay! First, they had to mould the clay into a egg shape and then using different toold create a pattern on them. Finally, when they were ready we painted them! They look beautiful – well done Year one!

Firstly, we hope you all have had a lovely Christmas and would like to wish you a happy new year. It’s great to be back and year 1 are ready to learn.
We started of the year with a big exciting mystery to solve! In our year one garden we found some eggs! They were all different and we had no idea where they came from, or more importantly who they belong to! Year 1 are still solving this mystery and taking care of them for now!
