We have learnt lots of new phonic sounds since the last time we posted.

Mr Thorne on youtube explains the sounds wonderfully and we will post links of his videos to help you at home.

The ‘t’ sound

This week we have been learning the ‘t’ sound and words that begin with the ‘t’ sound.

Below you will be able to see one of our children modelling how to say the sound correctly and the phrase for writing the sound. Just in case you can’t hear her, she is saying “Down the Tower, across the Tower”.

Ask your child if they can show you anything beginning with the ‘t’ sound at home and if they can write the ‘t’ sound.

The ‘p’ sound

We have been learning the ‘p’ sound and words that begin with the ‘p’ sound.

Below you will be able to see one of our children modelling how to say the sound correctly and the phrase for writing the sound. Just in case you can’t hear him, he is saying “Down the plait and around his face”.

Ask your child if they can show you anything beginning with the ‘p’ sound at home and if they can write the ‘p’ sound.

The Gruffalo Trail

We had an absolutely wonderful day with your child at Thorndon Country Park for the Gruffalo Trail on Wednesday.

The children behaved impeccably and we are so proud of them.

We had a great time looking for all of the characters and making some forest art.  We even found some dens to hide in.

The ‘d’ sound

Last week we learnt the ‘d’ sound and words that begin with the ‘d’ sound
