Pebbles!

Hi all!

Year 1 have been SO fantastic and earned the rest of their pebbles needed for their next treat!!

Both classes have decided they would like a party to celebrate their great work and behaviour. This will take place on Thursday 2nd March 2017.

You do not need to bring anything or do anything as the children will already be in their World Book Day costumes.

We will be singing, dancing, playing games & eating delicious party food (provided).

We look forward to sharing the photos with you this week!

Dragon Homework & Caves

Hi all,

You’ve seen Chestnut’s scary caves- here are some from Birch Class!

We think you’ll agree they are just as scary!

We have also included some wonderful clay dragons & homework!

If you have any farm homework ready to bring in, please bring it as soon as possible so we can display it proudly in our rooms!

Scary dragons in Birch Class!

Hi all,

Year 1 have been collaging dragons in groups using materials that Mrs Toms & Mrs Wren found at the recycling centre.

We worked together as a team and selected the materials that would work best when creating dragon scales, tails & claws etc.

We think you’ll agree that the children worked really well in their groups.

Here are some pictures from Birch class!

Making Salad!

Year 1 have been learning how to keep ourselves healthy through exercise and nutritional food.

As part of our Science & Design Technology lesson, we have been making a simple but healthy salad.  The children were asked to chop, tear and grate different salad vegetables.

The children were then able to eat their salad and they really enjoyed it!

Remember, the government recommend that we try to eat at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every single day!

Look at our wonderful salads!

RE Visitor!

Dear parents,

On Tuesday 7th March, Reverend Kayleigh from St Nicholas’ Church in Elm Park will be visiting us to speak about Christianity.

Reverend Kayleigh was very excited to accept our invitation as the children behaved impeccably when they visited the church last term.

Please discuss any questions the children may have about Christianity at home, for example “What special things happen at church?”, “Do you wear a cross on your necklace?”.

We look forward to sharing the photographs with you!

Learning & Life Skills

Year 1 have been making sure they use their manners when speaking to others!

This includes saying “Please” and “Thank you” when making a request and asking somebody to help or speak to them using the phrases “May I?”, “Can I?” and “Excuse me”.

Please help your child display their best manners at all times by modelling at home!

Here is the poster we display in class to remind the children what to do!
