Feeling Fruity…

On Thursday Year 2 started our morning by sampling some different fruits from around the world. Some we had tried before at home and some we hadn’t even heard of! We described the fruits using adjectives like ‘sweet’, ‘tangy’ and ‘sour’. In maths we created tally charts and pictographs to show which fruits our class liked the best. Here we are enjoying our fruit tasting experience:

Baking Biscuit Bear

Today we had great fun baking Biscuit Bear.  The children carefully followed the recipe and then  took it in turns to stir the mixture. After the biscuits were baked, the children decorated them. The best bit was tasting them!

Tea Party

Hi all!

Thank you once again for all your donations and attendance at our tea party!  We had a spectacular time and the feedback was wonderful1

I promised you photos on the blog this evening but I haven’t had a second to sit at the computer so I will endeavour to upload them tomorrow so you have them ready for the weekend.

Many thanks once again,

Mrs Toms & the year 1 team

History- The Plague

Year 1 have been learning about the Plague and how it affected the people of London!

We learned about the boils and fevers people experienced if they caught the plague.  It sounds really gory and gruesome but the children loved learning about it!

We downloaded a picture of a plague doctor in their special outfits and used the Puppet Pals app to crop the picture.  We recorded our voices and pretended to be the plague doctor.  Here are some of our videos!I
