A special song to celebrate our ‘GOOD’ news

On Friday we held a surprise assembly for Miss Morris to celebrate that OFSTED have graded our school as GOOD.

Each class or year group made a short video which was shown during the special assembly. These videos have been posted on the individual year group blogs for the whole school community to enjoy.

Listen to the Reception children sing for Miss Morris….

The ‘s’ sound

Today we learnt the ‘S’ sound / phoneme

Below you will be able to see one of the children modelling how to say the sound correctly and the phrase for writing the sound. Just in case you can’t hear her, she is saying “Slither down the snake”.

Ask your child if they can show you anything beginning with the ‘s’ sound at home and if they can write the ‘s’ sound.

PHONICS

Today we have introduced the children to their first phonic sound!

Below you will be able to see one of our children from last year modelling how to say the sound correctly and the phrase for writing the sound. Just in case you can’t hear her, she is saying “Maisy mountain, mountain”.

Ask your child if they can show you anything beginning with the ‘m’ sound at home and if they can write the ‘m’ sound.

Reception Home Learning

Hopefully, you have spotted the home learning booklet that was in your child’s book bag on Friday.

The work will be linked to our Literacy Work, particularly Phonics.

Please bring your home learning book into school every Friday, so we can add the next set of learning to complete at home.

Any questions please see the Reception Team and we would be happy to help.

Thank you for your continued support.
