Minibeasts!

Over the next couple of weeks we will be learning all about mini beasts. On Monday we had a visitor who brought in lots of minibeasts. We learnt about the Leopard gecko, bird catching spider, bearded dragon and rats to name a few.

Cold Places

We have had a busy week back at school learning all about cold places. The children have researched facts about penguins using the ipads and made a habitat for a penguin. We looked at the stories ‘Penguin and Pinecone’ and ‘Penguin small’. We have also looked at some real fish and did some observational drawings and made some clay models of them.

In maths this week we have been practicing adding and taking away objects as well as ordering numbers to 20. The children have been working hard to write adding and subtracting number sentences.

If you have any spare of the following items at home could we please have them, thank you!

() egg cartons

() old aprons

() empty fish tanks

() unused plastic fish

We would also like to introduce Rebecca, our final year student from Roehampton University. She will be working with Mrs Wren, teaching in Willow 1 throughout the Spring term.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend,

The Reception team 🙂

Our First Day 19.09.16

Today we had a wonderful day, getting to know the first half of the reception children.

They were all amazing – settled very quickly and even made some new friends.

We would like to thank all the parents and carers – you have clearly prepared the children very well for starting school.

We would like to share some of the photographs from today.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, and of course those who start school next Monday.

Kind regards

The Reception Team
